Pigeons
There are 350 varieties of pigeons around the world, and they originated from Europe, North Africa, and Asia. These birds have adapted to various environments across the globe, though their habitat preferences are quite specific.

Climate and Habitat
Pigeons demonstrate interesting climatic preferences. While they thrive in cold environments, they cannot withstand extremely harsh frozen conditions found in polar regions. Pigeons live in cold places but canβt survive in freezing weather like in the Arctic or Antarctica.
These birds also avoid extreme heat. You may encounter them in tropical locations worldwide, but they are notably absent from arid desert regions where temperatures reach scorching levels.
Distribution
The global range of pigeons reflects their origins and climate tolerance. Their presence varies significantly based on local environmental conditions, making them adaptable to moderate climates across multiple continents.
